I'm not interested in sewing, I'm not interested in drawing. I am interested in saying something in my own way. I am interested in collecting, mixing and then putting it into the light, against the light. To see what happens. What are theirs shadows? The black cotton thread is my constant. Everything else turns around it. I usually sketch out the design I'm going to sew, but then I almost never follow it. I finished this portrait at different times, in different moods.
I thought I needed to define it somehow. But does it really need to be defined? After a long time I picked it up again and I understood. All that was missing was the light.
And showing its weight.
