Machine embroidery on sculpted concrete block.
13 × 15 x 4,2 cm
Anna Gemito, the wife of the renowned Neapolitan sculptor Vincenzo Gemito. Anna's body, fragile and vulnerable, was ravaged by an illness that slowly consumed her strength, leaving her confined to a world of suffering and limitation. When Anna passed away, still young and full of unfulfilled promise, Gemito was left with a silence that reverberated through his soul, filling the spaces of his work with an even deeper sense of loss.
Love, illness, and beauty are inextricably bound, forever captured in the space between life and death.
